Talking to guy now, wonder why they can't get it to start? I really hate the idea of buying something that doesn't start but for the right price this could be a new street monster to the fleet. I mean my truck is quick and it's 9000+lbs and on 37s! I couldn't imagine a rclb.

Maybe he just thinks he ran it out of fuel. Something minor could have caused it to die and he happened to be low on fuel at the time......just a thought.

PROB NEEDS FUEL SYSTEM
my guess got water in fuel and kept driving prob ignored wif light
now for some reason the truck wont start.

by looking at the pic it also looks like it needs turbo u tube seals

i think it would be a good platform for sure
and if your wanting a race truck your going to change the fuel system anywase

I went and looked at it.. Truck has pressure from the LP pump, turns over, is only throwing battery/voltage codes. Has it at his buddies shop who seems to work on cars more than trucks and says he can't completely scan it to figure out whats wrong with it. Said he was able to scan and say the injectors are ok how would you go about further diagnosing this? plug my programmer in and crank, see what HPFP is putting out? Check the rail pressure? It seems a bit fishy the whole thing so I'm walking but interested to know whats wrong with it.

Also told me the story that he bought it for 8, the dealer he got it from ran it out of gas and couldn't get it running again. They let it go to him for 6500 and he took it anyway. Once he saw the truck (was shipped to him) he saw how everything is "cab off" and wants to build a dodge race truck instead.

How could running it outa fuel keep it from starting again?

DID IT HAVE P2291?

you can inspect seconadry fuel bowl and look for slight metal debri not a 100% accurate test.
pull the glow plugs and crank over and see if they mist
if they dont there contaminated whith metal due to hp pump failure.

is is bulding 7 psi low fuel psi?
you can crack the fuel line at the cooler on turbo u tube closest to the cowl and crank over and see if its aireated = HOW to push the air out of the fuel system
