Mercedes Diesel Car Suggestions

Been tossing around the idea of putting together a shop dd to run errands and whatnot with. Thinking about doing an older Mercedes diesel wagon. Anyone have any recommendations of what years and what to look for/ look out for? This is budget build...

The 99' 5 cylinder my neighbor has is a tank, I love that car. He' been running a veggie oil/ diesel/ kerosene mixture (adds diesel and kerosene to thin out the veggie oil) for maybe the last 75,000 miles on the car and it still runs great, even in the winter up here.

Buy my 83 300d! I'm sure it wouldn't cost to much to ship it out... I will even throw in all the new parts I just bought for it.. I want to keep it but need mod money for the truck lol

300D all the way. I have an 84 and I love it. The W123 body style is the best looking IMO

What is the best year/model engine/trans? I'd love to swap a small diesel into an old F100 soon.

The turbo M617 is one of the best engines but it would be a bit of a dog in anything heavyer than small car. A F100 sounds like a good canidate for a 4BT.
