Seems like I have read several accounts of RH side problems on 6.4L's over the last year or so. Does anyone know what is causing the failures? And why only on the RH side?

Worried... :priest:

Please explain how the firing order causes engine failures?

Most (coolant related - liquid doesn't compress) failures I've seen have been on cylinders 2 and 8, favored by the intake design. 2 and 8 are on the left (driver's) side of the motor, for those keeping score at home.

I guess I still don't understand... can someone enlighten me? How does the firing order affect the right bank?

And is the manifold really that poorly designed as to 'favor' one side of the engine?

Im not sure on the firing order, but how the intake is designed doesnt allow for an enough "straight on" approach for the air and it tends to flow better to the left side
