6.4 head gaskets

Im replacing the heads on my 6.4 and studding it. I have both the black onyx and stock ford gaskets. Im just wondering if anyone knows which are better? I've heard people are having better luck with the ford gaskets on the 6.0 so didn't know if 6.4 would be the same.

I would go with the Ford gaskets. There's no reason not to go with something that's proven to work.

I was thinking the same.

I didn't know that when I did my studs/gaskets/EGR delete. I got the ones from Elite, they said they were "replacement gaskets" and cost $210 but I'm not sure which ones they were.

Have the bolts been used? If so they are junk.

No they are new came with the new heads

Elites are not factory gaskets, they are black onyx, at least thats what i got with my H11's from elite.

Never had a problem with oem gaskets.

Stock factory ones FTW! Heard and seen to much bad stuff with the black onyx.

Dang. Looks like I've got black onyx's in my truck then. I've got a set of new stockers in the garage, so at least I'm slightly prepped if these go.
