Project Single Cab Short Bed(50%)Done!
I bought this truck from a very good friend of mine(who originally built it). Started life as a long bed 4x4 5.4 XL work beast. The truck now has a 6.0 in it(studded and egr delete thank God!). It has also been converted to 2wd and the newer(05-up)suspension. Also power everything and digital ac. Plenty more to come! This is going to be a fun project and it is a blast to drive. I am really liking this truck.

The bed and tailgate have been painted silver but the paint doesn't match too well. I plan on shaving the cab lights and getting the truck re-painted eventually.

Thanks. And I still have my 7.3 sluggo lol. I plan on getting it painted and shaving the cab lights. They just don't look right on single cabs.

I love the look of cab lights on reg cabs myself, but they also have their place too. Yours needs them shaved for that low, clean, and mean look. Nice project though! I would LOVE to own a reg cab shorty someday myself! Keep us updated, and with plenty of pics!

Your right about the color not matching but the truck does look good... I would do it to mine but I don't like the look of them lifted.

Right before I got it my friend still had it 4wd. And you are absolutely right, it looked off for some reason.

You already did the short bad conversion i assume?
Pics?

Sorry I don't have pics. Like I said I bought it from a friend. The frame was shortened under the cab. There are several different ways of doing this but this is the best way. If one were to cut the frame behind the cab, the bed will sit crooked. I will take pics of where the frame was cut. The truck has also been on the frame machine just to make sure everything is ok.

Just wandering, but why will the frame sit crooked if you cut it behind the cab. That's the way ive seen several short bed conversions done?

The few that I have seen in person were cut in the back by the front bed mount. Maybe they weren't done right but the bed was funny looking. I am sure it can be straightened out on the frame machine.

And yeah steve I need a good tune.
