Wow... I've read thread on just about every diesel forum, and it seems like there's lots of confusion. Hopefully, this will help:

Options:

1 - There are four calibrations: Economy, Atlas 40, Atlas 80, and Hercules. If you're towing 8,000 pounds or less, you can use everything but Hercules. We don't recommend Hercules for towing at all. We also don't recommend Hercules unless you have head studs. All four calibrations include the latest (safe) inductive heating strategy from Ford.

2 - You can send your FICM to us to be programmed with one calibration. There is generally a 48-hour turnaround for this service.

3 - You can get in queue for a remote programmer to be sent to you so that you can program your FICM with one calibration. The wait can be upwards of 8 weeks, depending on how many people are in queue and how quickly they send back their programmers.

4 - You can purchase a programmer for $400 with all four calibrations on it. You can change them to your heart's delight, but it is VIN locked to your truck.

Hope this helps!

It actually uses Edge's Hardware. We'll try to get some pictures up on the FICM page of the website to help.

It depends on when it actually arrives at our office. Generally, it's 24-48 hours because we know that if we have your FICM, your truck isn't moving. :D

Your best bet would be to e-mail corey@phptune.com, and in the subject line, put in that you're interested in being a dealer. I'll send you information and a link to the dealer application.

It depends on what you're purchasing. You can order just one calibration, or you can order a programmer with all four calibrations that you can change to your heart's delight!

I have a spare FICM that I was going to send to swamps for the 58v upgrade, am I right in thinking that if I get this tuner first all I would have to do is put my current FICM back to stock then tune the new one?

Jeremyleggett07

Do you have a current FICM tune? If not you just remove it cause normally a tuner only does your ECM and PCM not your FICM.

This thread is about an ficm tuner not an ecm tuner

Yes but it requires changes to the tuner that are done over the computer IIRC

Can ya'll turn the old style evolutions into an ficm programmer? Got one for just gauges

BallofSoot
06-09-2012, 06:53 AM
order mine thursday night, hope i filled out the Tire size before and after part right, i had 18s on the truck, but switch to 20's with 305/55/20. idk if that changed the gear ratio so i just put 3.73.

Agjake11
06-09-2012, 08:48 AM
Changing tire size won't change the rear end gear ratio

BallofSoot
06-09-2012, 04:06 PM
That's what i thought. I was thinking revs per mile not gear ratio. Cant wait to get tuner in. Ordered it Thursday night. Gonna do the rollback once I see how I like the tunes..question for the guys who have it already. Once I load the ficm tunes on can i unhook the programmer? Since I have an insight cts for gauges already. Or does the programmer have to be plugged in in order to keep the ficm tune on.

Jeremyleggett07
06-09-2012, 04:42 PM
It's just like any handheld tuner.... Load an remove... Don't have it but thas hat I got from it!

BallofSoot
06-09-2012, 04:57 PM
Its not like an sct. Its similar to an edge cs. Its an actual pod that shows pics. That's why I was confused on what to do

Jeremyleggett07
06-09-2012, 06:55 PM
Oh well hell nvm... Guess I was misinformed

Jeremyleggett07
06-14-2012, 10:03 PM
If a FICM fails and has to be rebuilt do you lose the tune?

Groovy Chick
06-15-2012, 04:08 AM
It is VIN locked to the first truck. However, we will reset your programmer one time to work with a new truck if you provide us with a receipt showing that you purchased a new FICM.
