Wastegate controller

So I am starting to think a wastegate controller is a waste of money, as long as you have the wastegate springs to open around 15 or higher psi boost. When the wastegate opens the computer will just compenstate the vanes of the turbo to keep the backpressure in line and the boost up.

That seems to be the exact opposite of what everyone is finding out recently... and I know a couple guys who have spent a lot of hours on a dtno dialing in gates on a couple well known trucks...

depends on the springs, we just set a truck up the other day that has nothing controling the back pressure other than the spring in the gate, and the vanes arent changing once the gate opens
