Getting into trucking

How did you guys get into trucking i am 20 yrs old and want to get into trucking really would like to get into hauling grain just would like some advice on how to get into it TIA! ALways have loved KW W900s!

I believe you have to be 21 to do any out of state hauling. Most places insurance won't let them hire you till your 23 I think. But I went to transport tech TMC was supposed to pay for it if I stuck with them for a year but my appendix popped and I was off for 6 weeks and they took me off payroll so I never got my full year in. Then I worked for a local company for almost 7 years. Ended up paying 5k for schooling.

Bought an 89 Pete when I turned 21 and went and took the test. Went through all the paperwork and crap to get my own motor carrier authority and everything else. Drove for myself till I was sick of it and sold the truck. I drive local now and love it. Good money and Im never gone more than 11 hours at a time
