Thought I would post up some pic's of engine #3's progress.

This build features:

  • Filled Block
  • Ported Heads
  • Crower Rods
  • Girdle
  • WOP Camshaft
  • WOP Valve Springs
  • Pistons Decked, Fly Cut and Radiused by WOP
  • WOP Fire Rings

Glad to see you posted up a thread for this.

Watching this come together, will only serve to fuel the anticipation of a how a strong and reliable runner this is going to be for you after it's all said and done.

This build has been on the back burner for quite a while now, but I cant wait to have her running again.

Did you weld those jets in place or take an extra measures to make sure that doesn't happen again?

Yip, welded the jet nozzles to the bases and made sure everyone of them flowed okay before I put them in. I did notice that the bases were not very flat and had some raised spots around the edges, must be a result of how they are made. Regardless, they were all PERFECT before I bolted them in. Also I found it curious that they were not all aimed exactly the same, I had to dig through my spares to find ones that were identical.

Looking good Dave. How'd the piston protrusion and valve reliefs end up? Right where we needed to be? Should make for a pretty stout little bottom end...

Pretty darn close, pistons are about .002 proud......but close enough for me. I need to get the heads finished up before I know how the relief's are....but I am guessing they are going to be perfect!:D

Looks great!!!

I like the manifold hook up. No more worries of boots blowing with the v-bands. Interesting the way you welded it together. KISS principle at work. Hard to tell from the pic angle but does single welded to the two coming off the manifold attach evenly to each side or does it angle more to one side then the other. From the pic it looks like its angled off to the passenger side.
