Hay all, I am replacing the front break caliper holder and pins, and I noticed that one of the new pins have three flats on the long sliding portion. Should that one be on top or bottom or dose it matter?

Subscribing to this one. Had my front jerk to the right at a light this am. Only did it once so I'm thinking this may be the answer. ( New pins that is)

I have never really paid attention and just put them in. The biggest thing that does matter is making sure they are lubed up really good.

AFAIK, all the pins were the same on every one I've ever worked on.

I've been using dielectric grease on my slide pins for some time now. Its a high-temp silicone-based grease and seems to last longer than 'caliper grease'. ;)
