Bought this the other day as a project to do with the kids over the next few years.

Looking to swap in a DT360 with a 4 spd auto. Is there a non electronic 4 spd auto that will bolt right in?

What a horrible body style of truck to do a diesel conversion to!:puke: You must be crazy:lame2:

Just kidding. It should be sweet when done. The truck sure looks clean in the pics.

That is going to be a really sweet truck. I've thought about trying to find one like that and going with a 12v in it.

Thought about that route too.

The truck sure looks clean in the pics.

Super straight body. A little bit of bubble rust on the box but nothing serious. Interior is chit but thats all coming out anyway...

Gonna call Carson on Tuesday and see if there is any trans I can run behind it without running adaptors other than an Allison 545 non lockup non od trans.

You want to sell lol. I love the late 60s-late 70s trucks. Those I've been searching craigslist for a good "cheap" truck to rebuild, but everyone thinks their trucks are made of gold on craigslist.

Definately not for sale after pulling the interior out today. Floorpans are solid. Cab corners are solid. Made $3 off the change under the seat too...

And it may be inline for a 12V and 47RH swap instead of the DT360. I can buy a complete donor 94/95 2WD Dodge to swap the drivetrain out of for less than the cost of a local purchased DT360.

I am currently doing the same thing. I have a 1967 F100 single cab short bed original 4x4 swb. It is not in the condition yours is in but it will be a "sleeper" in a sense. My biggest issue would be if we did do this swap. Would we have to cut into the firewall alot? Also how would we mount the motor and where to our frame, If i remember correctly it is mounted near the transmission.

The rough measurements I took when I was home last had me doing some pretty good hacking into the firewall. From what I have been told a 12V Cummins will take a little massaging of the firewall to get the rear valve cover off.

As for the mounts I can't help much cause I'm 2WD and mine just bolt to the front crossmember.

I'm probably going 12V and a 47RH as the local DT360's people want a fortune for and I found a 95 Dodge 2WD donor truck 3 hours away that I think I can get for $1200. Figure I'll spend the trans adaptor and flexplate $$ on a No Limit IFS and rear suspension.

Can you give me the measurements you got for your truck? Want to compare to mine.I thought we had more room under our hoods than a newer OBS (92-97) IDI or PS truck. I see a couple guys doing swaps in them with little to no trimming other than for the transmission.

Thatll be a cool project!

I have a 76 f100 with a 360 in it. The plan is a 4BT and a 4 or 5 spd manual. 4 link rear with air bags and air bag the front. Its my daily driver.

Gonna make it slammed or lift it or keep the ride height stock?

I read somewhere that a DT360 was ~44" long and the 12V was ~40" long. I'm at work until the middle of October otherwise I would confirm the truck dimensions.

When i swapped a 12v into my 76 F250, the only part that needed "massaging" was the front cross member. I basically had to trim it down 2-3" to give the oil pan enough room. Other than that it was a really easy swap, an I had plenty of room under the hood. I really wish I wouldn't of sold that truck, but I'm gonna find a crew cab to do next after I'm done screwing around with my 95. Your truck looks really nice btw, good luck with the project

How much room did you have and what transmission did you use? I am really looking forward to doing this. Even a basic DT360 just swapped in as a DD, i could get 25mpg plus and have something unique!

Too late the donor truck is already bought. Anything with a DT360 around here they want my first born for it...
