Mine will do this as well. I was told it is air going out the intake relieving pressure on the turbo during the shift. Don't know how correct that is though

It does it on my 08 also. There is no wastegate on the 6.0 or 6.4. It is just air reversing past the compressor wheel of the turbo.

Turbo bark it sounds like. ^^^ what they said is air has no where to go so that is the path of least resistance but it also stalls the compressor out.

I do not believe so, it is not like the compressor is sealed holding air in the CAC system. If it would I believe the 6.4 groups would be seeing shaft failures already. Maybe in the long term it could be a problem but I am not that well versed in turbos.

Yeah that's not good on the turbo as it creates allot of stress on the shaft plus high thrust loads in the turbo
