H&S Mini Maxx- looking for key-on power

installing a mini maxx on our 2011 6.7
h&s book says key on power is a soild purple wire under the dash,
but all i see is
purple with grey tracer

purple with light blue tracer

and purple with orange tracer

can anyone help me by telling me which one i need to tap into for power source?

In my book it tells me what fuse to hook it to under the hood. Fuse 52 on the Passenger side of it is what it says in the book pg 51. The fuse box is on the drivers side.

Can't you just a test light or something to check for key on power if you aren't sure?

& I figured with how common these mini max's are someone would already know rather then me go poking around at all the wires

There is a solid purple wire in there, no tracer and thats the one you want.

That it does, I usually just pull it out of the bundle to separate it from the rest to make it easier.

Ended up flipping through the book & found the fuse location,
It's on the same page that the duramax starts on so I thought that it was the fuse for the dmax tell I read closer.

Instructions specify tapping the fuse box for the 6.7

It can be done either way, doesn't matter a keyed 12v source is a keyed 12v source where it comes from isn't necessarily an issue.

True, but I don't really care for wires hanging out of my fuse box...just looks half assed to me but it is what it is I guess..

I don't either, thats why I use the purple wire under the dash.

Hmm, I may have to dig up the purple wire and connect my Mini Maxx to that and use it for the power for the switch for the high idle mod as well

I just used an Upfitter switch and left it on all the time... since they get power "key on" as well..

buhhh isn't there a switch on the mini-maxx to have it pull 12v via the obd2 port instead?

yes but then it has constant power not keyed power.

Just an FYI guys I tested the purple wire under the dash with my remote start and it is not on until the key is on, like an upfitter switch. The fuse that H&S says to use comes on with the remote start, so your mini max is up and running using the remote start. So if you are looking to do the high idle mod to come on with the remote start the purple wire won't work.
