Is P0611 w/ 58v FICM normal?

Just installed my 58v FICM tonight and got the P0611 code. Is this normal? I kinda figured it was but thought I'd ask anyways. BTW, It runs great.

I've heard of this with some guys getting the P0611 code with the 58V FICM upgrade, but there are also others who don't get the code. So i'm not really sure what would cause this. I'd call Vivian and see what she says. It might depend on who's 58V FICM you get tho.

I sent her an e-mail this afternoon but I'll have to wait till' tomorrow to hear back from her. I wondered if it was like the egr codes after a delete, in the sense that the 03-04's didn't throw em' but the 05-07's did.

ya its normal. mine does it and they are both of mine are 06s

the P0611 has nothing to do with the egr delete, no matter what year...and the egr code would be a different code that says insufficent egr flow.

i dont think he meant that it was part of the egr code. he just means how the computers are different between years. maybe i miss understood lol

I just know that different years throw codes for different things, I.E. 03-04 don't set a CEL after an EGR delete, but the 05-07 will. I was saying it could be that an 03-04 wouldn't have an issue with a 58v FICM, but an 05-07 does so it sets the p0611 without a CEL. Got me?

Could also have to due to the flash version on your truck. It won't throw a code for low voltage but will throw one for high voltage on some trucks.

I have the egr code and a 611 code for the 58v ficm. I guess I'm the exception.

EDIT the egr delete throws a soft code not a cel.

Thanks guys. I figured the code was normal, just thought I'd ask the guys with experience.

I just put two Swamps 58v FICM's in today. one in a 05 and one in a 06. Both run great and no codes.

What is a PO611 mean? weird voltage?

our earlier 58v FICM's will throw the PO611 code...our newer ones do not...

the PO611 code does not throw a CEL/SES light...it merely means that the voltage is out of range (high or low).

i had it, deleted it and it has not come on sense

Old thread...but gonna bring it back to life. Guy calls me up and says he's working on a truck that has a 58v ficm and it throws a p0611 code. Told him it's normal with most trucks with the 58v ficm. But he then tells me that it only reads 54v instead of 58v and has a slight miss. I told his I this the ficm is starting to take a dump. Anyone have any thoughts?

Mine has always read 54v, it's the highest the sensor can measure.

correct...the OBD/ECM will not read/display higher than 54vdc.

if the FICM has voltage...and the FICM will 'buzz' all 8 injectors...then the issue(s) are most likely not going to be related to the FICM.
