Got 3 trailer houses for pretty much nothing, not bad shape. I'm gonna haul them back to where I live and rent them out. I've never hauled them before, looking for some tricks of the trade. They are 14x76 I believe. Looks like just need to cut the lines to them, slap some tires on and hitch up and go.

How far are you wanting to move them? I have moved one about a 1/4 mile on flat ground but if I was going to move one very far and had any tight turns or hills I would pay someone to do it professionally. I helped a friend move one and he does it professionally and he has a truck that the hitch can move from ground level up 10 foot and can side shift 10 foot right and left from center.

This^^^^ there's a lil more to it than just backing your truck up to it, tying on and down the road you go.

I moved a 12x60 with my 2000 f250 about 6 miles on back roads. It was a load and if you get caught it wont be good. You can do it but probably best if you get a pro to do it,they have hydraulic hitches on the trucks and can put them anywhere you want them.

All about pushing limits, but the ROI on yanking that thing around with a 1 ton is a huge 0.

Definitely gonna need permits and an escort vehicle. If the houses are all hooked up still it takes some work to get them ready to move.

My roomates dad owns a mobile home moving business so I work with him some times when he needs help. And they can definitely be sketchy to haul. My other roomate was driver the toter one day with a 60x18 house behind it, brakes locked up the trailer jacknifed into the semi and shove it in the ditch and rolled the truck on its top and the house tipped over across the road. Luckily he wasnt hurt but it was a mess for us to clean up

To me it's 1 of them things you ask yourself, "can I do it?", sure probably, but why risk it. We've had 2 moved roughly 200mi, an to hire it out wasn't all that expensive. Plus, if something gets ***ked up in the process, it's on the mover an there insurance, not yours. I personally wouldn't even think about hooking my truck in front of one, it just ain't worth it

There not that hard to move if your moving it a short distance and it's in good shape... Problem is, there are many that haven't moved in years and that's spells trouble.. There is a guy here that does it for a living, he jacks em and he has a special set of x's to put under it so he doesn't use the trailer running gear at all.. He yards em with an F-550.. Winch on the back, winch on the front.. Pretty cool truck actually..

Lots to think about here. They have sat awhile and i have to move them about 200 miles. I will probably use a day cab semi i have sitting around if i decide to haul them back. I will definately check out what permits are needed. The only reason i a considering hauling myself is i was quoted about 2200 to move them, thats just pick up and drop off.

For $2200 jump on it. I move them sometimes and I wont touch them for less than $500 hook-up and $4/mile plus permits.

If they will do three of them for $2200 you are making out. 200 miles is a long way to drag a used house trailer. If they have been sitting you can plan on losing at least one wheel bearing and the brakes will be useless.

I actually think if that was offered to me I would have to turn it down. I really don't see a trailer making that trip and I don't have the equipment to dolly it.
