What is the 10,000 gvwr option? Are they putting softer springs on that model?

not really sure honestly, because as far as i know the f350 all come with overloads and come with the 3.5 inch block, but maybe someone needs to check the block height on a 10k package truck, maybe its overloads and the shorter block?

All the trucks here were 11.5k packages when i bought mine

It's the exact same as a regular F-350 my truck has it. It is just to make insurance cheaper where trucks with a GVW over 10,001 cost more. I have overloads and the 3 5/8 rear block. Only difference is the sticker inside the door.

Also in Quebec if your GVWR is over 4500 kgs, you are considered a heavy vehicle. This means pre-trip inspection, log book, etc.

Just to update there is a difference in the rear axle. The 11500 package has 37 spline rear axles compared to the 35 and the pinion is also bigger

Hmmm. I guess the best way to find out would be to pull an axle and I really don't want to deal with that to check. Also I your last post on that thread you said 11.5k is an option and its the other way around for a 350. 11.5k standard and 10k is an option. That's why I figure its just a sticker change. Maybe I can just have my dealer look up some part numbers for my truck then one with the 11.5k rating in the door.

It's all about wheel speed and torque.

Did anyone ever figure out if the !0,000 gvw F-350 has smaller axles and pinion than the standard F-350? I hope to get a 14 ordered in the next day or two and want to make sure i don't get smaller axles.
