Effective 04/01/13, Re-licensing a tuner with the same type engine will cost $250.00. That's for people that are selling the tuner, and if the truck was returned to stock.

Here's all the details:

http://spartandieseltech.com/index....-used-dashdaq-will-i-be-able-to-tune-my-truck

The info below is required before we can re-license a unit:

We will need the following:

Original owners name and phone number.

Your name and phone number.

DashDAQ serial #.

If you are updating the unit to tune a 6.7L truck from a 6.4L truck you
will have to upgrade the firmware before the unit will communicate with
your truck. Instructions can be found at the link below:

http://spartandieseltech.com/index....pdate-dashdaq-216-2097--updating-your-dashdaq

Plug the tuner into your truck. After it boots up select exit from the
Gauge screen. Next select Tuning, I Accept then Vehicle Info. Take a
picture of that screen. Next exit and select Status. Take a picture of
that screen also. Make sure we can read all the info on both screens.
Attach both pictures to an email and send to:

[email protected]

If you are the original owner and are going to re-tune another truck with
the same type engine and the first truck was returned to stock then there
will be no cost. You will need to send in something like a vehicle
registration or insurance card that your name on it showing that the truck
is in your name.

If you truck was wrecked and totaled, and you are trying to get it
re-licensed send in a copy of your accident report showing the VIN # to us.
You can fax it to 828-692-9968, or scan and attach to an email and send to

[email protected]

If you purchased the tuner used and are re-licensing it for the same type
engine, it's $250.00. We will contact the previous owner to ensure the tuner was sold prior to requesting a new license. This takes time, so please do not expect this process to be completed in one day.

If the first truck was not returned to stock the cost is $599.00 for a new license.

If you have purchased a truck with a 6.7L Ford engine and the tuner was originally licensed for a 6.4L engine it's $599.00 for a new license.

Race Use Disclaimer and Liability Waiver. You can download this from our website at www.spartandieseltech.com We must have one on file before we can begin to process your order. You may have filled one out for the
dealer that you purchased your unit from, but remember we do not have
access to their records. We must have the disclaimer that is on the home
page of our website. If you are switching to a 6.7L truck from a 6.4L
truck then we will require a new disclaimer. Any disclaimers modified by
one of our dealers will not be accepted.

After sending in all the info listed above you will need to call us to
provide your payment info.

After we have received everything listed above, including your payment
info we will request the license. It can takes up to 7 business days to get your license back for E-Motions. When it comes in we will email everything needed with instructions on how to update your tuner.

Jeff,

I am in market for DD/Towpig so I assume this applies to me?

So if we purchase a second truck of the same engine, can we still license to tune multiple trucks at once? Is this the 250.00 or 600 variety?

A new license is $599.00. To reset a tuner to work on another truck is $250.00. To tune multiple trucks, a completely new license is required.

That would be correct, as long as you don't plan to tune both trucks with it. I assume you don't since you'll be needing custom tuning for the built truck.

H&S will not unlock a vin locked tuner with off road tuning. When they unlock it then it becomes just a street tuner.
