I've used this housing with SS mesh screens for initial filtering and with $6 each (at Tractor Supply) 10mic elements for intermediate filtering.

Then I use these 2mic filters for 'final' filtering:

and the head/adapter ($10 in cast iron/$14 in alum):

I used a 30mic spin-on for awhile, but I could buy 3-4 of the goldenrod 10mic elements for price of one 30mic - so I quit using the 30's.

Well, don't expect much from that pump... Are you using it to collect and process oil? For volume and pressure, I suggest a 1hp gas-powered (centrifugal) water pump. I've been using a 1hp Honda 4cycle 1" water pump for years now. The HF 2stroke versions are about the same price as that pos HF 12v pump... If you must have 12v, the Redline Pumps (uses SBC oil pump/aka. Melling 55) are prolly best. You can build your own SBC pump for under $25 and power it with a cordless drill or WHATEVER you can dream up.

Check out post 11 for a member here who makes a mount for SBC pump:

Here's my Honda:

And the venerable $30 HF 'blue pump' (110v 1" Clear Water pump) - set up with filter on pressure-side:

The only problem with the 'blue pump' is it WILL NOT self-prime. If it is not plumbed in a way that maintains head pressure on the pump - you must use a check valve or something on the suction side to keep the suction hose full of oil. (see my PVC CV??) I have a friend who recently set up one of these pumps with a tee on suction inlet to pump. The vertical side of tee stick straight up and has a valve, then is necked up to like 1.5" dia PVC. Since this pump is stationary/hard-plumbed, it would be difficult to fill the suction line if he lost prime... This way, he just fills the 1.5" pvc with oil, opens valve and turns pump on. Once its 'primed', he closes valve and pumps away.

I don't have any pics of my SBC pump with me right now, but it was built using these plans:
