Wire's under dash?

I was under my dash last night and noticed a thick cluster of capped wires to the left of the steering column. Are these the new connections for the Aux switches or something like that?

Ford has always left additional through-firewall wiring for customer use. You could simply be seeing it on your truck. My early 99 has a very similarly looking bundle on it.
