I've got a chance to get a few old office trailers for a good cost...just have to demo the structure off the Frames..

They're 12x60...aside from scrap steel I Cant think of any other use for the frames other than a trailer.

Of course they'd need to be shortened and narrowed...and axles may need to be upgraded to pull at a highway speeds...

Has anyone ever built or had a trailer that started as a house frame?

My dad built a gooseneck/ 5th wheel trailer out of an old house trailer frame back in the day to haul his show truck in the 80's. He "upgraded" the axles to camper axles and that wasn't enough. The bearings always got hot. So as long as you buy some big axles you should be alright. BC the rest of the trailer worked pretty good.

I'd try to find a wrecked trailer with 10,000 lb axles. Then make sure you weld it correctly I would see no problems.

I thought of that too..welding isn't an issue .

These trailers I'm talking about I can get for free...I'm not sure about the axles
