anybody here ever don a swap from a 97 powerstroke io a 93 idi

takin the 7.3l idi out and putting the 7.3 powerstroke in

Should be a pretty easy swap as long as you have the donor truck your getting the motor from for the wiring and everything else

ok and will the 7.3 bolt up fine to the zf5 in the 93

I know they have diferent torque ratings on the zf5 and I think it will bolt up, but not 100% sure and of course you will need the fly wheel and clutch from the 97. The only cutting i think you will have to do is for the computer in the fire wall

ok cause a guy wants me to do it for him cause the 93 body is perfect but the 97 is all thrashed and hes ganna trade me the work for a 91 turboed fox body mustang a extra 5.0 motor and then the 7.3idi

Yes the ZF will bolt right up.

If you have a whole donor truck it should be a little bit easier.
