Has anyone done this on a 10-12 truck to keep all of the factory installed radio options and install external amps and subs? I know Unbroken did this on his new Dodge.

Oh yeah, I put in an Audison bit ten D. Couldn't be happier with my setup. It's great if you want the best sound quality and be able to tune all while retaining that factory look with the head unit

Best bet is going to be a processor like the Audison, or the Rockford that Rich is running. Mosconi also makes a good one and I think JBL still has one. Basically keep the source unit and interface, but everything else audio will be handled through the processor giving you FAR more control and quality than nearly any aftermarket HU would allow.
