I took a look through the tech section put didn't find anything.

What is the maximum oil temperature recommended by Ford?

Those with gauges, how closely does coolant temperature and oil temperature run (10* spread) (20*)?

The reason I ask is I want to set the alarm on my electronic gauge for oil temp. I plan on ordering the sensor and cable to connect the coolant temperature and will also set the alarm for that.

Thanks

I think I would go 220 on coolant and 230 on oil for the alarm if you tow. My oil is usually 10deg under coolant but most report the inverse of 10deg over coolant.

Thanks Tom, I did find a reference for the 1999 powerstroke where 212 degrees was normal for the oil. I could not find the range. I will go with your recommendation.
