Well I stripped the threads on my Warn winch, I don't know much about cast iron, do I need a new housing or can I tap this thing? It was 0F and as usual I cranked two bolts to tight..

Cast can be repaired with a helicoil. That may be your best bet if you can access it to prep the hole for the coil.

threads aren't cast into the part they are tapped anyway so if u want to up size you know the routine for that process

helicoil/timesert is good when the part won't accept a larger fastener but they cost more IMHO

Okay, I have plenty of material to go bigger... I thought I was screwed when I stripped them out.. The winch was mounted incorrectly so I took it off, put in on right and stripped them out..
