6.4 power stroke in a car.

A turbo 350 would be torn to shreds in a matter of seconds. The turbo 400 can built up pretty strong but still wouldn't be what I would put behind a 6.4 The simplest thing would be to find a gas 4r100. Or a dodge 47rh is smaller.

Ya there are 1200hp plus cars with a 400 behind them but they don't have the torque of a diesel and weight is a factor. Plus the fact that a turbo 400 has no lockup clutch in the converter and nobody makes a adapter for it to bolt it up. There are far better choices. I would look into the dodge 47 smaller and can be built plenty strong.

There are tons of 1500-2000hp cars running turbo 400s. But probably wouldn't be the best to try and mate to a 6.4, be a lot of trouble for a 3 speed with no lockup.

Very true, who could make an adapter plate for that.

There is a guy on svtperformance.com that has a 08 Shelby with a BTS 4R. He might can give you some info if your interested in the 4R
