hpop problems

trying to remove my hpop (not first time) and cannot get the gear drive bolt off or out, its broken loose but just spins and spins and spins ive tried keeping the pump bolted up, prying the pump twards the cab, forward reverse, nothing seems to be working.. anyone gotta clue?

Use a impact with a 18mm socket

Is the gear engaged? If so, you are turning the motor over. Put a socket and a breaker bar with a long enough piece of pipe to hit the ground on the crank bolt. That will hold the motor still. Course, if it is tight enough, I guess it could flip the truck over.

im pretty sure just the gear is spinning, the motor only turned over untill i "broke it loose"

That does not sound good. The gear should still be meshed with another gear.

I think what he is saying is the bolt has enough resistance in the nose of the pump that now with it loosened a little HPOP does not have enough resistance to remove the bolt. Impact gun time.
