I know nothing, my parents are looking into a 12' dual axle bumper pull.
Will be used for material and hauling a kubota b series tractor this spring.

We have this maxum at work...no problems with it, dual pistons to raise the dump body so thats pretty quick. tracks straight, mostly has this mt52 in it and we havent had any issues. my only dislike, but goes for any dump trailer, is sometimes its hard to load equipment in the back because the ramps are so steep

The one we use at work has been a pain in the ass when it's loaded to its max weight. Can't go faster than 55-60 or it gets really squirrelly. Prob need to get the axles aligned

Get 7k axles. Pj makes a great dump trailer, and have there brakes set up perfect. At least the ones I pull did.

I know have 2 Texas pride dump trailers. So fare they are good, just had to chage a few things to my liking.

I would go with a 14' bri mar model 714hd or something like that. thats what i run with the 14k gvw and i haul everything with it. It has twin pistons, power up and down. Ramps go under the trailer. Its heavy duty! Empty weight is 4200 then i added 2' high sides using 1x16' pressure treated lumber. I've loaded it to the top of the sides with mulch, dirt, wood. Leaves, and with brush i load it about 3-4' over the sides it never fails. I've also loaded it up to the metal sides a little higher even with stone. It was about 7-8 tons of stone in it. Did 3 of those trips in a day. Slightly over loaded but it handled it like a champ. I've also put a full size skid steer in it no issues. I know you said you were looking at a 12' but a 14' will come in handy more then you think. Bigger is better as long you have enough truck to tow it.

I vote for a Maxey built trailer, I've got a 77" x 12' high sided trailer and a 6'x14' dump trailer, I use the hell out of both of them. I would tell you to go with a scissor lift hoist over a piston style hoist any time. The scissor lift will always be a more powerful unit and dump more evenly, just my .02

If it were more powerful then why are tri axl dump trucks and 50' dump trailers twin piston or single telescoping piston? They haul some heavy loads.

I don't have all the answers Rsk, that is a valid point maybe because the bed is longer on a end dump or tri axle. I don't have all the answers except guy I know has the same size trailer as mine and had a issue with his pump and he borrowed mine. His trailer had a twin hoist, after he used mine and got his fixed he went and bought the next size larger than mine. Said that the scissor lift was a lot stronger and dumped more evenly.
