Trying to get everything figured out for my shortbed build. Hoping to get the SD stripped this weekend and start getting stuff ready to roll. Current goal is to have the truck done by July 1st.

I'm taking the entire drivetrain out of this, E99 F-250. Currently has a ZF-6 and manual t-case. The ZF-6 will be traded for a BTS E4.

And putting it all in this. I do have the rear driveshaft, and have access to a front driveshaft from an auto OBS.

Will the ZF-6 t-case work on the E4, or do i need to get an OBS 4407? I do realize i'll have to have the current driveshafts shortened, or have new ones made. Any other foreseeable issues i may run into?

The zf t-case will not work with the E4. I believe I have a obs t-case that will work. I would be willing to trade the zf t-case for. PM me if you're interested.

You can make it work with a little effort. The E4OD and 4R100 4x4 have the same output shafts, the issue you will have is the ZF6 NP 271 has a different input. Just swap the input on the NP 271 for a automatic version, I think you change the seal size too and it will bolt up. The other issue is you need a different length rod for the lever between the trans and transfer case. Use a SD front drive shaft for a automatic. IIRC the rear will drive shaft need a 1410 yoke to mate to the NP 271.

I have also thought about getting an auto 271 shaft or case and using it. Anyone know if a 271/273 is stronger than a 4407?

Why don't you save alot of effort and just build the superduty?

Because the SD was beat-up, truck jackknifed with a GN trailer and was totaled out. Needed a complete cab. But by parting it out i'm basically getting the entire driveline for free. Plus this ECSB OBS is a LOT lighter than that CCSB. Shooting for 600hp and under 6k lbs, should move good. :pimp:

Its a plan, but the more i start to think about the more of a PITA its becoming. LOL May just sell the SD axles and get an OBS D-60 and a D80. I can't find a good way to do an RSK to run a SD front axle that gives 0 lift, everything out there gives a 2" lift at minimum.
