Is this a good idea? Im about to spray the bottom of my truck, (frame, axles) and I was just wondering if I needed to tape up my exhaust pipe. All I have is a MBRP 5" kit, and I could care less if it is black or aluminum. I just don't want to be smelling burnt paint after I do this. Any thoughts? Anyone do or not do it?

Mine has been black since I can remember David. Just regular spray paint worked just fine for me and no burning paint smell.

I sprayed my exhaust with high temp black paint since I only got the aluminized, figured it might help keep the rust away for a bit.

I've always sprayed any aftermarket exhaust I've got with high temp black paint. It's always held up good, and if it chips you can just spray that spot over again.

Oh ok. I'm just spray over everything when I do it. We have a hvlp gun that I've been wanting to try for some time now.

I've been thinking about doing this. My exhaust system looks like ****.

Let's see some before and after pic's when you finish.
