project motor.

I'm done making a DD truck fast and ba . it's not reliable chit breaks etc. So I'm going to build me a toy. ( haven't made up my mind if it will be a old car or truck. ) almost like a rat rod.

My question is what type of trans should I run? Or point me in a direction of a forum?! Rear end? And what kind of power can you get out of the 453's and 6v's gotta love the sound of the Detroit diesels. Too many swap Cummins into things I want to be different

Wish I could help but I don't know enough about them. But aren't they fairly heavy? They do sound sweet that's for sure. Id think an old 50s 1 ton shortened and lowered would be pretty cool.

I have two 453s and an 8V53. There loud, they leak, and they are heavy. An 453 weighs around 1300lbs. 6V53 about 1600-1800lbs. You need lots of gears to keep the engine in its power ban.
