Boost PSI when cold

100 hp tune, 01/f250, straight exhaust, tymar type intake. Wastegate is unplugged.

Engine was warm, but not really up to operating temp, I was checking something else (annoying exhaust rattle somewhere) Boost would get 22-24, then when at full operating temp, couldn't make more than 17 for any reason.

Days later......... Now I am consumed (pi$$ed) with it. 15psi... is all most of the time. The truck seems to run the same, but it can't really be.

I will.....haven't gotten a detector made yet. Wondering , by chance if a wastegate could be the problem. Not sure what to check in the interim, other that just rendering the wastegate inoperative for a test drive or something. As relatively simple as the may be, there's way more to know than I do.

You need to check for boost leaks. I would pull the intercooler boots off and clean them then re-install with hairspray.

I think I am just gonna replace all of them anyway. They are probably originals

Could be that annoying exhaust rattle?
