Hey guys I'm looking for opinions. I am trying to clean my truck up and the trim along the bottom of the doors is kinda fading funny. Should I take it off? I was thinking about taking the fx4 sticker off too

Thanks guys

I would take it off and have it repainted. Just look at them now and look at all the nicks that would've been dents in your door that they saved you from. Ask me how i know. I think removing them looks cleaner, but only to us obsessive people. To anyone without a superduty, or even a normal buyer, they've got no idea there's anything there. I wish mine came with them.

FX4 stickers should go with no looking back.
The side moldings are up to you, I had them on my 06 and now I don't on my '11 and I love it without. I've always been careful when opening my doors anyway, so it just looks like excessive plastic imo.

I like the trucks with and without the molding. I actually like the stuff on mine. I had it repainted. Its black and has the aluminum strip down the middle.

On my truck, oh its a hot mess, I took the 4x4 offroad off the passenger side and its the only side of the truck I look at. The stickers are rubbish in my opinion.

I'm in the same boat as you with the molding fading really bad. Not sure whether to take it off or repaint it if thats possible. I know trucks look really nice without it, but like previously mentioned here the doors would probably get trashed once it's gone.

As far as my vote for your truck, I'd say take the molding off. I say that because the truck is actually in good shape and you probably wouldn't want something taking away from the overall look.

Ditch the molding. My truck had door and fender molding once upon a time. ( and door/fender badges)

So much cleaner without it...happy it's gone.

Thanks for all the input I already peeled the fx4 and it cleaned it up a bit I'm going to pull the door trim and decide if I want to have them repainted but i think they will stay off. Its one more place for salt to sit in the winter up here and I usually park way away from other cars to avoid dents and dings. Also have a 2.5in leveling kit w/ adj. Track bar waiting for me to decide what tires I want.

Then either amp steps or nfabs and it should be where I want it for now.

Thanks for all the input guys

Thats a nice looking truck to begin with! I agree with all the input about just cleaning your lines up. Im not sure about removing all the badges too? If/when you put wheels and other stuff on Im all for chrome!! The black wheels and blacked out trucks in general is getting old and boring.

When I bought it. (badges, door moldings, fender moldings, fx4 sticker, and steps on)

Gare didn't you say the paint comes off behind that trim sometimes though? I really want to pull mine off, but don't want to damage underneath it.

I used this stuff to take some of the cladding off the X. Worked awesome and the product does not damage the paint. I think between this and fishing line, it would come off pretty smoothly.

I like that it says it removes lipstick. They have the poor saps who are dating psychobitches in mind I guess... LOL

Both Amp Steps and N-Fabs are great additions to any truck. Here's a link to the Amp Steps and we've also got a ton of different options from N-Fab as well. Let me know if we can help you further!

You are correct. There were multiple bubble spots on the white truck where the paint pulled away. This could just have been defective paint, as the tan truck did not do this when I removed molding from it...
