Anyone know how a person should adjust the pre-injection tables in relation to adjusted main timing table? The numbers don't quite make sense to me lol. To me the pre-injection numbers are way retarded if they are labeled like the main timing tables with -5* for example being btdc.

Below is my current main timing table with the pre-injection table under it.

I believe they are labeled as degrees btdc. So 15 means 15 btdc. The way i changed them was by setting them a certain amount of ms before the main injection by making a calculator in excel. I based it off what the tables were on the base tunes

K. That makes sense.

I was reading some guys with duramaxs and cummins were setting their pre-injection only a couple degrees before the main.

Looking at my tables the pre-injection is nowhere near close enough to be effective.

I read some studies and based on what it was factory, I have my early pilot injection around 1-2 ms before the main and the later pilot less that 1 ms and it seems to be good.

I've attached a couple of the studies I read to learn about pilot timing
