Installing brake controller on an 05 f250

I just bought an 05 250 with a receiver hitch and gooseneck ball and from what I can tell there is no sign that a brake controller was ever installed any towing equipment on this truck looks installed non factory.has anyone wired up a brake controller in a non tow package truck and how hard is it to accomplish.

Take the panel under the steering column off.
Look up towards the radio. There should be a rectangle grey plug (Color might be different, just going off of memory when I had my 04)

There should be a plug near the center of the truck. You should also be able to get a pigtail that will plug right in and butt-connect to the wires coming from your controller so you don't have to hard-wire it to your truck.
