`05 6.0 fuel sending unit

Is ford the only place to get a new sending unit? I called the dealership where i bought my truck and they gave me a price of $450! I looked on ebay tonight and didnt find anything there. It's not much fun running out of fuel with 1/4 of a tank still reading on the gauge. If you know of another place to buy one and could let me know, that would be greatly appreciated.

are you running the stock pump? or something along the line of a FASS or Airdog?

yea ford only, i am in need of one too but yea...438 dollars from the dealership is crazy just to fix my fuel gauge

it might be worth dropping your tank and checking the adjustable pick up tube length and sender arm

Thanks guys, I plan on dropping the tank and looking at the arm before i buy another sending unit. $270 is alot better than the $450 that my local dealership wants for one. I haven't had mine read to see if there is a code stored but the truck is going back to the dealership tomorrow, so I'll have them read it.
