I had a hard cold start today. Cold for San Diego is 65 degrees. Anyway, the truck started hard, and ran very poorly. I had a couple of hours, so I drove it 8 miles to Fuller Ford. I need a new FICM. So, here's my question. Did the hard start trash the FICM, or was the FICM bad to begin with, and the cause of the hard start? The mechanic says the FICM voltage was 25, and he said the cause of the FICM failure was most likely 220,000 miles of wear and tear. My most recent maintenance was an oil change on Saturday. Truck ran OK after. So now I have had my first BOAT repair. That's Bust Out Another Thousand.

Still looking for an OEM radio/CD. Mine is worn out, so I don't need another one that is also worn out. Thx.

If it were me, I would check with some of the vendors here pertaining to an FICM.. I'm pretty sure the dealer charges at least double for one..
