OEM HEADGASKETS OR BLACK ONYX

Hay there guys I am just wondering what is best as far as head gaskets on our 6.4's? I know some guys swear by OEM gaskets and others say the Black Onyx are the way to go. I am having ARP's put in and looking for advice on gaskets.

Oem is the only way to go. DO NOT USE BLACK ONYX. Unless you wanna do it again. We've seen HUGE failure rates lately.

I can't think of anyone on here that is going to tell you to use black onyx.

OEM. Have them on my wife's with arp's and it's holding up just fine.

Who has put black onyx on 6.4's? I guess some shops probably do that don't know any better, but I can't imagine any shop involved in the forums would do it.

Like already stated, OEM.

Like already stated, OEM.

Several shops do it because its cheaper. They care about money, not longevity, the engine running properly, or keeping everything in spec. Just money, Jeff. Its not even sad anymore, really. Its just a tragedy....

They do not offer "black onyx headgaskets" for the 6.4. Those are only for the 6.0 powerstroke, and we do not recommend using them.

Proly them selling 6.0L gaskets as 6.4's.

I thought Cobb was a bunch of ripoff artists, or am i getting them confused with someone else.

They are a bunch of rip of artists, but just showing that someone is selling the 6.4 Black Onyx gaskets or at least they are saying they are.LOL

Yes I have and would never purchase anything from them. I was just showing that they are offering the Black Onyx head gaskets for the 6.4L Dont worry guys I stick with the people on the forum and put my trust in them to stear me the right way. Mostly use Elite and Rudys thus far.
