DEI has a add on for smart phones with some models

I like how they show the remote start function and a pic of a vehicle in a parking garage running for 15 minutes

I didn't look at the whole vid but the Smartphone thing is cool I have been looking into it heck some will tell you if your vehicle moved and where it is

I already downloaded the app to my phone. Just trying to find out a part number and a cost, other than the 649 installed by the dealer.

I have the viper with the smart start on my phone.

Works pretty well, great to be able to lock/unlock your truck when you are 30 miles away at work.

i just did a google and saw some guys on the F150Forum talking about this. I also found it at Tasca. I didnt notice anything about a yearly subscription needed, but in this thread they are talking about it.
http://www.f150forum.com/f38/ford-remote-access-app-smart-phones-201915/index9/

can anyone confirm pricing? confirm or deny yearly subscription required? they also say 4 hrs of install needed, so w/ the part & labor, its almost $750+??

sucks its for 11+. looks like i'm gettin a 5901...

That's where I was reading the info from also.

There is a 49.99 yearly subscription.

On the 4hrs to install it, I don't think it takes that long since it is just plug n play with 15 minutes in ids to reprogram.

I am thinking of just buying the kit and installing it myself, then take it to the dealer to have it programed.

My viper /DEI is not a compatible model for the smartphone module

but there are standalone modules for this so I am looking at that angle

the yearly subscription for piece of mind ( especially when I overnight on the boat )

would Be well worth it

Ive had this by Clifford on my 08 for a couple years now and it is great!

Comes in very handy and works everytime.

I imagine the factory installed version on the 13s will be just as good.

steal your phone, steal your car.

I have got to imagine the chances of that are low

first stolen smart phones usually get shut down so they can't be traced

even if they didn't shut it down they may be able to start you vehicle but you still need keys to drive it

and I doubt many could maneuver the app to not only start you vehicle but to initiate a GPS tracking of it to find it ?
