heater blend door

has anyone done this job. the passengers side blows cold and and doest respond to the passengers side temp adjuster. air coming out the vent stays a constant temp..drives side works fine..

how much of a PITA is it to fix this thing..

It's a huge pain if you do it by the book. If you are creative it's easy as can be. I did it in 45mins but you run the risk of damaging pieces. I risked it cause I'm not pulling the dash out.

Do you mind running down the approximate steps.. Drop the center peice, air bag and glove box? How much is the part. 30$ ish?

Pull the air bag and glove box. Remove the duct that's over the blend door. Oh pull the stereo head unit. Pulling the duct isn't easy and you need to get creative. Also finding the bolts that hold it in is tough. It's not for the faint of heart, had a few techs watch me do it in the parking lot one day cause I was driving when it failed. Took me 30mins.

Job complete.. The hardest part by far was getting that center vent elbow out and back in..time like is about right.. 45 mins to get it out And I took me time putting the dash back together

How about the drivers side, how is it to do?

It can probly be done the same way.. It will be tricking getting the drivers side center vent pipe pipe out... There's not a lot of room to slip the cross tube off. You may have to take the gage cluster out to. To do the drivers
Side the air bag and glove box wouldn't have to be removed.



This pix is looking in through the air bax area or the dash..the vent peace has been removed already..

I need to do this also

Drivers side is the same. Did both in a hour.
