Wheel/Tire Tech Thread

I noticed that there are a lot of threads started on the forum related to wheel size, tire size, and what will fit at certain ride heights without rubbing. I am starting this thread so everyone can post up good technical information about what has worked for them and what hasn't worked. Pictures of setups are definitely good. When you post up pics and your setup, be sure to include wheel specs, suspension specs, and tire specs. That way it can stay more technical and helpful rather than people just showing off their setup.

I'll start...

Factory 20x8 wheels, 295/60/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers, stock height F-250. The tires measure roughly 34" tall and 12" wide on these wheels. There is no rubbing anywhere with this setup.

20x9 BMF Novakane's, 0 offset, 305/55/20 Toyo Open Country AT's, 4400 lb 5.4L front springs and no rear block. The tires measured a little over 32" tall and little over 12" wide mounted on the wheels under the weight of the truck. There was no rubbing with this setup with the fender well liner zip tied back.

Same setup as above, but with 305/50/20 Toyo Proxes. No rubbing obviously. The tires measured about 31.5" mounted and under the weight of the truck.

20x9 BMF Novakane's, 0 offset, 325/60/20 Toyo Open Country AT's, 2.5" leveling kit and 3.25" rear blocks. The tires measured about 34.8" on the wheel and were almost 13" wide. There was no rubbing at all with the setup with the fender liner pulled back. I also had this same setup on my truck with a 4" lift....no problems there either obviously.

Factory 20x8 wheels, 325/60/20 Toyo Open Country AT's, 2.5" leveling kit and 3.25" rear blocks. The tires rubbed on the radius arms at full lock but did not rub the fender well liner. Once I put these tires on the 20x9 BMF's, no more rubbing on the radius arms. 325's seem to be a little too wide for factory wheel back spacing from my experience.

2wd f250 with a 2 inch level( really only Got about 1.5")

20x10 xd diesel wheels 4.5 backspace

305/50r20 cooper tires (32x11)

No rubbing whatsoever.

20x10 BMF S.O.T.A.'s, -19 offset (I think), stock height truck, 305/50/20 Toyo Proxes, no rubbing anywhere obviously...

99 F250, 4x4, 100% Stock suspension, 20x10 wheels, -24 offset, 305/50/20 tires.

It is tight in the front but it does not rub. The closest I get to rubbing is about 1/4". The tires stick out about 2" and it will sling rocks and water down the side of your truck. I would like to try a deeper offset but my pockets aren't that deep and it may cause rubbing on the leafs, don't know for sure though. I tried to get some good angles.

Wheels: 20X10 Moto Metal 951's with -18mm 4.79" BS
Tires: 305-55-20 Cooper Zeon Ltz
Truck: 00 F-250 stock front with rear leafs modified to level (-2")

No rub, no modifications to wheel wells.

Here is my setup. 295/70/17 tires on 17x9 helo maxx 8's with 4.5" backspacing. PLENTY of room with a 2.5" leveler

No, negative offset forces the wheels/tires to stick out farther. Offset is measured from the centerline of the wheel to where the wheels mount to the hub. Negative offset will give you a bigger lip on the appearane side of the wheel, also causing them to stick out from the body line.

factory 20's, 35/12.50/20 toyo open country MT. fender liner pulled back from 20x10's no rubbing.

20x12 fuel throttles. 325/50/20 Mickey Thompson atz.

2000 f250 with 07 front end. Completely stock suspension.
Good bit of rubbing left front inner fender liner. Cut about 5-6 inches off to ensure no rubbing. Right fender liner almost never rubs except on uneven ground and at full lock.

I should add that the tires stick out 2-3 inches past the fenders.

F350 on stock wheels, 2.5" readylift leveling kit and 35 12.50 20's. No rubbing at all, and nothing modified.

I had 40x14.50R18's on my 04 8" lift they rubbed at full lock I hit a bump. Didn't rub the springs though if that's what your getting at.

Yeah, thanks man. Got any pics? I've been thinking 38x15.50x20 on 20x12 machined Fuel Throttles.

Only pic I have of it with the 40's probably don't really help much. I'd pot another set on if Johnny law wouldn't bust my balls on the lift laws. They put me 2.5" over height
