Default 6.0 turbo ?

Does the 6.0 turbo need back pressure?

Sent from behind the hood of a long nose pete.

OP, not all year 6.0's will act the same.. The 03-04.25 motors the latest programming uses backpressure reading based off of MAP and BARO.. 04.5-07 motors use the EBP sensor along with the readings from the Map and Maf sensors..

The vanes in the turbo open and close to control backpressure, controlling the exhaust side based on how fast the air has to flow out of the turbo, and if you open up the exhaust pipe side, you have changed the airflow out of the turbo, which changes its operating charactaristics, and not for the better.... if you reduce the exhaust side backpressure too much, even if the truck seems to be driving fine, you can reduce its performance by doing so...

I had two of them and when I installed a "5"inch exhaust on the 03 it seemed to add power.. I did the same to my 05 and it seemed to lose power..
