I had one of those $400 boxes, Delta Pro. For buying new it was better pricing, and if you are not going to beat on it then it will be a good box, latches well and overall good for the price, but not even close to the ball park of a Weatherguard box.

Got the Weatherguard for $250 off craiglist from a guy who had it since new on a truck always garaged.

Can't see it in the picture but the floor of my delta box developed a crease in it from the weight of my tool chests that I had. Lid was strong enough to stand on with little flex, but the weatherguard is 7" wider and I can stand on the lid with zero flex, and it latches much easier.

I love the amount of room the 27" wide box has, seems like it holds almost double the 20" box.

Just saw this but tractor supply had all truck toolboxes 20% off until today. Takes quite a bit off a new weather guard but only leaves anyone a few hours to grab one if their local store has them.

Same here. All they sell is the rebranded garbage that HD and Lowes sell. I had one of those in my shorty and it was garbage. Thats why I left it in the truck when I sold it.

I have a rki rawson koeing tool box that I have had since 03 it's been on 6 trucks. And my dad has weather guard on his truck since 05 and they are getting replaced this year. He has 30 inch crossbox and 2 saddle boxes and he is going with rki this time around. And the 2 service beds my dad has are rki and they are built really well.

If you want to break away with a little more cash look into boxes made by Highway Products, Pro Tech, and Taylor Wings. They have a better lock system than weather guard boxes. They use a T handle instead of a button and are a loop and hook type latch system. I had a WG box and it was nice but the Highway Products and Taylor Wings boxes I have now will last a lifetime. The Taylor Wings box I have must be at least 20 years old and still looks and functions great.

Ive been there pardner, believe me.

I just finally pawned my diamonplate compact husky off on my FIL. He had a plastic.delta on his s10. It wouldnt lock or anything. So i adjusted the husky and lubed it up and he' got it. It was like 248 bucks in 06. Had it in my 04 ranger ecsb worktruck. That truck and the box were both junk. Truck got worze mileage than my one ton diesel.

weatherguard makes a tough box.

I've had mine for about 7 years now, best box I've ever owned hands down.

Now I have had to re-weld the latch one time, but I believe it was due to the tire on the dirt bike being pressed against it (my fault for strapping it down that way).
