I've done some research and I know how easy an 05 axle swap into my 01 is. I have access to a complete set on the frame.

However... I also have a line on an 08 set on a frame and I want to run a 4" lift.

What's different about 08 and up? If I'm running a lift with new radius arms etc, I'm guessing I need less stock components for the swap.

Links or info appreciated.

Sway bar mount at the axle are different.

Most of the lift kits I have seen, 05 - 07 use a longer link for the sway bar.
08 and up tend to drop the sway bar at the frame.

Other than that not much changes.

I say get the least expensive front end and go from there.

I used an 06 front end on mine with 4.5" Icon coils. I think the brake lines have a better routing on the 05 - 07 for the older trucks.

Use the 05-07 the sway bar will be much easier to deal with. I am still trying to find a sway bar that will work on my 08 axle swap.

Well, I'm committed now. Rolling chassis with a box on it just got dropped off in my yard. $700 Canadian Pesos delivered. 2010 with 100,000 miles on it.

Now to figure out who's lift to use.
