Coalescer filter

Manual makes it look like you can remove the top cap and change the filter element. Mine and another buddy's filter housing does not have screws or bolts on the "lid" like he manual illustrates. Was this a manual screw up? 51889971790__582F469D-3ECE-4839-951D-67561DC305E9.JPGIMG_5976.JPG

Got the new in from dieselfiltersonline.com. Motorcraft filter. I'll change it at the next oil change and cut the old one open and see how it looks. I currently have 13,000 miles so we'll see how it looks next oil change.

Any reason you changed it so fast? I never changed mine with 107k miles.

Just curious. I haven't changed it yet. I will next oil change. Want to see how it looks so far. Kinda like I did my fuel filter change at 3k miles, filter by the tank had little rust particles in it. Glad I changed it early!

I have the same you with no bolts on the top. Wondering if you ever cut that "crankcase ventilation oil separator" open, or coalescer, and if so, what did you find? Does this thing need to be serviced at all?

Hey my bad for late response. I still haven’t replaced the filter yet. I’ve got 102k on the truck and still have the spare filter hanging on my toolbox. Thinking of replacing it soon and cutting open the filter to see how she looks inside. Anybody replaced theirs yet?
