I am fixing to put some new wheels on my '16 DRW. The fronts will be regular wheels "SRW type" instead of the regular dually fronts. My question is, can you remove the studs that hold on the dually adapter and install actual wheel studs without removing the bearing assembly?

I understand the studs from the bearing to the adapter are too short and a different pitch than a regular stud.

if your running a SRW wheel you will want to ditch the dually adapter
and you will also have a different bolt pattern from the rear

sample pic is a ten lug but you get the idea

This part I know, just unsure of how much of a pain it will be to remove the studs and replace them.

I would count on pulling the unit bearings to do the job properly

They can probably be done with them on the truck, but I wouldnt. I dont like putting the impacts through the bearing. I had to change mine on one once, and used a vice with the jaws opened enough so I could drive the stud between the jaws.

Its not much more work to pull the bearing.

EDIT: I suppose if you had a portable press then on the truck wouldnt be a bad thing. But I wouldnt do it with a hammer / impact hammer on the truck.
