I have noticed my truck has started ticking bad after it is warm . Did a lot of google searching on all forums and couldn't find an answer why it does this. I was planning on keeping this truck for a long time but now I'm worried . Does anyone have one of these ticking engines that has put some serious mileage on it ? Makes me more mad that Ford says this is normal . Yet not all 6.7s do it so it can't be normal .

I took a video a couple months ago but it wasn't really noticeable on the video . But I'll try and get another one . It never does it when it's cold . It seems to do it the worst after I drive it to the job site . Then let it sit for an hour or so then start it when it's hot and let it idle it does it.

106k miles here. Does it for a couple thousand miles after every oil change. Had the truck since 44k miles. Drive it.

My 2012 did this after each oil change for about 500 miles or so and would then go away. Haven’t changed the oil in the 2017 yet to see if it does it also.

It's a normal noise on almost all HD diesel engines. You couldn't hear it on older engines because they were so loud, but it was still there. When the oil is is new (clean, no carbon) it will create a ticking sound as it passes through the bearing surfaces (hydrodynamic lubrication). As the oil gets more carbon in it from use, the noise will be less noticeable.
