I have been trying to get ahold of MidWest with no luck.

I started to put the manifolds on my motor and they are hitting the new head studs.

So is it common to shave the tips of the studs down to the nut or clearance the manifolds?

I think I would rather shave the studs. Anyone know what the common method is?

If they're the earlier arps then I know a few guys who had to shave on the tops of the studs. As far as I know the more recently manufactured studs dont need it. Maybe reach out to arp and see if they'd swap you out.

Sorry it is the exhaust manifolds. The small head studs at the top of the head outside the intake man/valve covers.

I don’t know what studs they are and don’t plan on even loosening them. This is a complete stage 3 long block. Same motor they just put in Jcain’s truck, both motors were in same group.

I am probably going to get to the point today that I need to do something to continue moving forward.

Don’t think I want to modify the wall thickness on the manifold so probably shave studs.
