I am in search of a 1.0 exh housing and a 360 thrush /rebuild kit. I popped the turbo last night and now in need to rebuild it and we all know stock sucks but at this time of year the coin is tight! It only had 314xxx miles on the oem turbo with a wicked wheel 1 on it

It is a journal style and ran good till it popped the seal. It should be able to be rebuilt. I will find out as soon as I get it off.

If it's leaking like that, I assure you it's not fixable. Let me know what you find

can you elaborate a lil more on that sir? at some point we prolly all have thought that they are fixable when they pop thinking it just needs a seal! what happens to them that they cant be fixed? i prolly woukd have tried a rebuild myself without knowing.

bruce is spot on too....

A slight oil weep is fixable, 9 out of 10 times, when they are puking oil that bad, the thrust bearing or a journal bearing let loose, causing the turbine side piston ring/ shaft/ turbine wheel, to destroy the sealing surface of the bearing housing. Basically, same deal as an engine, but have a severely scored cylinder wall, you dont just put new rings in it and go.

So with that said,if the thrust or a journal bearing failed, your bearing housing is shot and your shaft is shot. If the thrust fails, your backing plate is shot, and your tin heat shield is shot.

The ONLY time Ive seen them puke like that and be "OK" is when a crank case vent gets plugged shut, causing the oil not to drain and it has no choice but to push out past the turbine and compressor piston rings.

I may be 100% wrong here, but I highly doubt it with that much oil.

Not trying to be a keyboard warrior, but I hate seeing people spend money on a rebuild kit, think all is well, and then have to call me a week later with the same problem needing a new turbo.

OP, pull that turbo apart and post some pics, I'll be glad to tell you if it is fixable.

James... This one poped like a boost boot and ran the crank case low enough to shut down the hpop in a mile or so
