I got a 08 tailgate to put on my 03 and somebody told me I needed to get some part through ford to make it work. What is it?

I think it the one hinge is different. Im not positive on that though

As java said it's the d/s hinge, part number is 4L3Z-83430B39-AA I got mine from Sunset Ford on here I think it was 9 or 10 dollars to my door lol.

You will need a manual Impact driver to break it loose. The kind you hit with a hammer. Have a couple of extra Torx bits handy.

Is this different hinge only for the spring assist inside the gate? Just curious, figure someone ripped out the spring inside or something along the way.
I have an 08 gate on my truck but never changed the hinge as it just popped on like any other gate.
