I've read where people replace their old starter and opt for the high torque starter.
So far I've called a place that rebuilds starters and they don't have an high torque option and I've called NAPA and they tell me they just have factory reman from Mitsubishi and Nippedenso (sp) and no high torque starter.

Any suggestions on a good starter and where to buy?
Is the High Torque worth getting if I can find one, what are the benefits?

Thanks

Awesome! Thanks guys & thanks for the video CTC and good looking truck. I'm looking at possibly getting another 00' F250 but 4wd this time and look forward to going around and pulling people out that are stuck this winter.

Sherman, Tx area. I have the Mitsubishi style 3 bolt.
Called 2 NAPA parts stores they're saying the Nippendenso is 2 bolt and will not mount up??

O'Reilly's has gear reduction in 2 or 3 bolt but is not Nippendenso.

What brand is 16658?

Mine is a 3 bolt Mitsubishi with 12 teeth, the Nippendenso I looked at today that they said is for the F250 but 2 bolt style is 13 teeth and shaft was different size and really didn't seem like it would come close to mounting up.

a couple pics... the nose is actually still brand new (from the 16658) but I loosely bolted it up to the old motor thats worn out. The 2 bolt nose is still being used as the dragbike starter, but it gives you an idea.

Its a standard part number thats available from multiple brands. Romaine sells them as brand new.
